To fully enjoy the gardens we highly recommend arriving 1 hour before sunset.

FAQ
The Candlelight Evenings take place every Thursday evening in July and August, from 7 pm until midnight. In 2026, they are scheduled for 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 July, and 6, 13, 20 and 27 August. Last admission is at 11 pm. To enjoy the gardens before nightfall, visitors are advised to arrive at least one hour before sunset.
As night falls, the Gardens of Marqueyssac are illuminated by 2,000 candles and more than 150 additional light sources, placed along the Clifftop Walk as far as the waterfalls. Seven musical performances create a magical atmosphere, including piano, jazz, Irish music, pop-folk and lounge music. Activities are also provided for children, including a candle-making workshop and an enchanting roaming performance on stilts.
No. A standard daytime ticket does not provide access to the Candlelight Evenings. These special evening events require a separate ticket, which must be booked in advance and purchased exclusively online. Combined tickets for Marqueyssac and the Château de Castelnaud, as well as the Pass Périgord, are not valid for this event.
Yes. A small selection of light refreshments is available inside the gardens, including sandwiches, cakes, ice creams and drinks. There are also two picnic areas outside the gardens, one of which is covered and located before the entrance. Visitors may therefore enjoy a picnic before entering, but picnics are not permitted along the visitor route inside the gardens.
Yes. Advance booking is compulsory and tickets are sold exclusively online. As places are limited, visitors are advised to book their preferred date as early as possible. Candlelight Evenings may be cancelled in the event of rain or strong winds, so it is recommended to check the latest information before travelling.
